The Cross-document links behavior option let administrators decide whether to display a button that readers can select to go directly to the book with the linked topic.

If the checkbox is cleared, the linked topic can be reached through the preview window by selecting its title or the Read the topic in context button.

If the checkbox is selected, the linked topic is only displayed as a preview in the popup window and cannot be reached. The Read the topic in context button is not displayed.
The checkbox is cleared by default.
