OpenID Connect (OIDC) adds a layer on top of the OAuth 2.0 protocol. In addition to verifying a user's true identity (authentication), OpenID Connect grants the user permission to perform actions based on their rights (authorization).

Creating an OpenID Connect authentication realm consists in selecting an OpenID connect provider (such as Okta or Keycloak) and declaring Fluid Topics as the relying party.

Users with the ADMIN role can add and configure an OpenID Connect realm as follows:

  1. Access the Realms tab of the Authentication administration interface.

  2. Select OpenID Connect from the Available types menu to open the New realm drawer.
