Creating a Twitter authentication realm consists in defining Twitter as the OAuth 2.0 provider, with Fluid Topics as the Service provider (SP).

In this configuration, Fluid Topics implements the OAuth protocol to authenticate the users of a Twitter realm as follows:

  • Fluid Topics asks Twitter for authorization to retrieve user's identity.
  • Fluid Topics calls an API to retrieve the user's identity.

Users with the ADMIN role can add and configure a Facebook realm as follows:

  1. Access the Realms tab of the Authentication administration interface.
  2. Select Twitter from the Available types menu to open the New realm drawer.
  3. Configure the following parameters:

The Twitter OAuth API does not provide user email addresses. When using a Twitter realm to authenticate, users will be invited to enter their email address in order to complete their minimal user profile.
