ADMIN and KHUB_ADMIN users can create a new source as follows:

  1. In the Sources administration interface, select the New source button to display a list of available source types
  2. Select a source type that corresponds to the format of the content that will be uploaded through this source (for example, select the Dita source type for DITA content, the Ftml source type for FTML content, etc.)
  3. A window opens with text fields to define the following information for the source:
    • ID: the source's unique identifier. This information is used to specifically identify a source, regardless of its name or category. This field is mandatory. Once set, it cannot be modified.
    • Name: the name of the source. This field is mandatory.
    • Category: the category of the source. This field is optional. Defining a category generates the ft:sourceCategory metadata key.
    • Description: a description of the source. This field is optional.
  4. Select Next to configure source permissions.
  5. Choose the option that corresponds to the roles of the administrators who will have the right to publish through this source.

Each source ID and source name must be unique. It is not possible to reuse a source ID and/or source name that is already in use for another source.

It is also possible to create a source using the dedicated web service.

If a source type seems to be missing from the list, the associated connector may need to be activated first. Please contact your Fluid Topics representative for details.
