The new ft:prettyUrl
metadata gives access to the associated document – both structured and unstructured – with an internal redirect to the canonical Fluid Topics URL.
For example, if the ft:prettyUrl
for the Fluid Topics 3.7 release note is set to "3.7/Fluid-Topics-Release-Notes"
then the document is accessible with URL: https://doc.fluidtopics.com/r/3.7/Fluid-Topics-Release-Notes.
Since version v3.6.22, we have delivered the first phase of Pretty URLs:
- You can populate the metadata directly in your content, at the document and topic level.
- The Pretty URL of the content is used if it exists when Sharing a document in Reader and Viewer page. It is also used in SEO when exposing content to Web search engines.
Creating meaningful and non-ambiguous URLs depends on your content and your metadata. Pretty URLs are set through a Control File when uploading content, or generated automatically at processing time based on existing metadata and the title of the document (in an upcoming 3.7 minor release).
