Fluid Topics uses one of three types of clusters to gather results from the same source:

The metadata value selector when it is possible to distinguish a document by the values of at least one metadata key.

The document selector to distinguish between two documents that share a topic with the same title.

The variant drawer when it is not possible to distinguish a document by the values of at least one metadata key.
By default, the Switch to relatives feature uses the ft:clusterId metadata as the pivot metadata. It is possible to change the default behavior in the Reader page administration interface.
