To link a topic in the same document or to link another publication (also known as "crossbook link"), see Paligo's Cross-References and Links documentation.

Crossbook links only work when the target is a topic. Crossbook links do not work when the target is a book or an article. This is a known limitation.

Cross-reference links in Paligo can have two different identifiers:

  1. data-origin-id to identify the original topic.
  2. fork-id to identify each variant of a topic.

When pushing Paligo content to Fluid Topics:

  1. data-origin-id becomes ft:baseId.
  2. fork-id becomes ft:originId.

When opening a data-origin-id link, as there can be multiple targets, the reader shows a pop-up with a preview of the target content. If there are multiple variants, the pop-up shows a switch to all the possible variants.

When opening a fork-id link, the reader goes directly to the targeted topic.

For more information on Fluid Topics identifiers, see Built-in metadata.

It is possible to define a cross-document link by using the Fluid Topics deep link feature.
