Author-it Documents Are Duplicated

Issue

After modifying the publication_conf file, previously existing documents are duplicated instead of updated.

Impact(s) on users

End-users might consult a copy of the documentation that is not up to date.

Resolution

If New Variants of the Document Appear

Adding new variants to the document modifies the URL Generation Criteria for Author-it Content.

It is necessary to delete each duplicate one by one by opening the duplicated document and selecting Delete document in the Document shortcut menu.

If the Document is Missing Previously Available Variants

Removing variants from the publication modifies the URL Generation Criteria for Author-it Generated Content.

Remove older versions of the document as follows:

  1. Clean the source used to upload content.
  2. Republish all content that had been previously published to the portal through the source.
