The Excel connectors supports the use of the Fluid Topics Control File. The Fluid Topics Control File allows users to define metadata for documents and topics.

When uploading, users can assign metadata to a document by using the <filePath> element, and giving it the file name (including the extension).

Users can also assign metadata to a topic by using the <originId> element, and giving it the sheet name.

Example:

The following example gives the my_excel_file document a metadata key of author, with a value of John Doe.

It also gives the sheet 1 and sheet 2 topics a metadata key of fiscal_year, with a value of 2022, and 2023.

            <filePath>my_excel_file.xlsx</filePath>
            <metas>
                <meta key="author">
                    <value>John Doe</value>
                </meta>
            </metas>
            <topics>

                    <metas>
                        <meta key="fiscal_year">

                        </meta>
                    </metas>
                </topic>
                <topic>
                    <selector>
                        <originId>sheet 2</originId>
                    </selector>
                    <metas>
                        <meta key="fiscal_year">
                            <value>2023</value>
                        </meta>
                    </metas>
                </topic>
            </topics>
        </resource>
    </resources>
</controlFile>

The connector also supports the upload of map attachments through the control file.
