The debounce is the time delay before triggering the document.start_display and topic.start_display events.
The delay lasts one second and applies to the Reader page and to the Viewer page to accurately detect:
- When a user starts reading a document, as opposed to only bouncing on a document.
- When a user briefly scrolls through a topic instead of reading it.
The debounce has also applies to the Search page to detect bounces caused by the Preview feature.
The debounce reduces the number of document.start_display events to better target actual views and could explain page views discrepancies with other analytics tools.
