Fluid Topics supports multi-factor authentication (MFA) in the form of time-based one-time passwords (TOTP).

ADMIN users can activate MFA at the realm level. Multi-factor authentication is available with all types of realms. When active, MFA applies to all users of a realm, with no possible exception.

By default, MFA is not activated.

As a beta release, multi-factor authentication benefits from ongoing improvements.

  • On a portal with multi-factor authentication, it is not possible to use basic authentication to connect to the Fluid Topics API. Use API keys instead.
  • TOTP tokens stored in authenticator apps remain valid even after MFA is deactivated, and then activated again.
