To configure a multilingual taxonomy, prepare a file as follows:
-
In row 1 column A, define the language of the content to which the vocabulary applies by entering a value for the
afs:langmetadata.The
afs:langvalue must be an ISO 639-1 language designator in lowercase, and an ISO 3166-1 region designator in uppercase, separated by a hyphen. For example:afs:lang=en-USorafs:lang=fr-FR. -
In row 2 column A, enter a generic term (also known as hypernym).
-
Enter synonyms for the generic term in the same row, with one synonym per column.
-
In row 3, enter a specific term (also known as hyponym) related to the generic term.
-
Enter synonyms for the specific term in the same row, with one synonym per column.
-
Continue developing the taxonomy with generic and specific terms and their synonyms.
-
To add another language, skip at least one line after the first taxonomy, then define the language in column A.
-
Add the translations of all terms defined for the first language.
The following example is an example file defining a taxonomy for a corpus of documents in American English and French:
