The following use cases show how to configure legacy content access rules to achieve different objectives.
Use case 1
To let only users who belong to the VIP user group see the documentation about a Premium version of a product:

In the Default group section, select
AuthenticatedorPublic. -
In the New access rule drawer, select the
Versionmetadata key. -
Select the
Premiummetadata value. -
Select the restricted to the following groups button, then select the
VIPuser group. -
Select Save in the New access rule drawer, then select Save in the Access rules administration interface.

In the Default rule section, select
AuthenticatedorPublic. -
In the New access rule drawer, select the
Versionmetadata key. -
Select Restricted to the following groups, then select the
VIPuser group. -
In Metadata requirements, select the
Productmetadata key andPremiummetadata value. -
Select Save in the New access rule drawer, then select Apply and reprocess in the Access rules administration interface.
Use case 2

Repeat the three previous steps for each possible value of
Version, with a group per value. -

Setting the default group to anything other than Public keeps bots from crawling the portal and impacts the SEO strategy implemented for the portal.
Use case 3
To automatically bind documents with the metadata audience=internal to members of the internal user group:

In the New access rule drawer, select the
audiencemetadata key. -
Activate the automatic binding toggle.

Select Save in the New access rule drawer, then select Save in the Access rules administration interface.

In the New access rule drawer, select the Automatically bind metadata values to user groups with matching names.

Add the
audiencemetadata key. -
Select Save in the New access rule drawer, then select Apply and reprocess in the Access rules administration interface.
