It is recommended to modify server hostnames according to the environments they host in order to ease identification.
- Edit the following file:
As root user
/etc/sysconfig/network
- Modify the following line:
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=$SERVER_HOSTNAME
NETWORKING_IPV6=no
NOZEROCONF=yesWhere $SERVER_HOSTNAME should be modified in order to reflect the environments hosted on the server.
- Run the following command to take the modification into account:
As root user
hostname $SERVER_HOSTNAME
