The Search in document feature lets users search within the publication they currently have open in the Reader page.

- The Search in document mode may not be available if an administrator has deactivated it.

- The Search in document mode is available to both authenticated and unauthenticated users.

In desktop mode, selecting the Table of contents tab of the Reader page sidebar displays the Search in document search box as follows:

Search in document

Entering a keyword displays the following information in the sidebar:

  • The number of search results.
  • A list of topics containing the keyword. The order is the same as for the document's table of contents.
  • Each result has a title, breadcrumb, and excerpt. Occurrences of the user's keyword are highlighted.

Selecting a result opens the topic in the content pane of the Reader page.

In mobile mode, users can access the Search in document feature by selecting the Search button in the portal's header.

If two results with the same name are available in several locations within the document, a Choose among x variants button appears between the topic's title and the breadcrumb. Selecting the Choose among x variants button opens a drawer with a list of all available variants of the document.
