Entering a search query (or submitting an empty search) on the portal's Homepage brings the user to the Search page, where they can apply additional filters, sort results, and preview content. The Search page contains two sections: the search results pane and the sidebar.

The Search page appears as follows:

Where:

  1. The availability of tabs in the sidebar depends on which roles an administrator has assigned to the user. While the Filters tab is available to all users, the My searches tab is available only to users who have the SAVED_SEARCH_USER role.
  2. The sidebar with the selected tab open.
  3. A search box allowing the user to enter one or more search terms. An autocomplete list opens to suggest content while the user types.
  4. The number of results matching the current search criteria (search terms and/or filters).
  5. The Sort by list allows the user to sort by relevance or last update.
  6. The Copy link button copies the URL of the list of search results. One user can send the URL to another user. The other user will be able to access some or all of the content, depending on their rights.
  7. A Save button. When selected, a dialog opens allowing the user to save the search for future consultation. This button is only available to users who have the SAVED_SEARCH_USER role.
  8. The title of the content with an icon indicating whether it is a FT Publication IconBook or an Fluid Topics icon used to differentiate articles from books and topics Article.
  9. The Choose among x variants button allows the user to navigate between different versions of a document or topic. A drawer opens with radio buttons to filter by metadata. Metadata shared by all the results are listed in the bottom left corner of the drawer:

  10. Tags indicating the metadata keys defined for the content. A circle of dashes around a metadata key means that it has several values for the document or topic.
  11. A drop-down list available when only one metadata key has multiple values for the content.
  12. Under topic titles, the breadcrumb of the topic is available.
  13. The Preview button allows the user to get a quick glance of a topic or an article.

Selecting content in the Search page brings the user to the Reader page, where they can browse the content in context.
