It is possible to use the multi-portal mode to set a preproduction environment. This way you can safely run tests on a portal that has the exact same KHUB content as your production portal, but with no impact on end-users.

Example

The OleanDor company is planning to change some settings in their portal.

Before applying the changes in production, they want to make sure everything is OK.

To do so, they prepare a test portal, named OleanDor Test consuming the same KHUB as their current production portal, named OleanDor.

The Oleandor portal is displayed as follows:

OleanDor production portal

On the contrary, the OleanDor Test portal color set is different and tiles were added to its homepage to guide users when entering the documentation portal.

As the OleanDor Test portal is a "Consume" portal, it can easily be tested and modified as needed without impacting end-users.

Only when the configuration is approved, it can be exported and imported in the OleanDor "Manage" portal.
