In the Forbidden attachment file extensions section of the Feedback administration interface, it is possible to improve security by preventing users from attaching files containing viruses or spyware.

Fluid Topics uses a failsafe verification system that blocks all attempts to circumvent forbidden attachment file extensions as follows:

  • Regardless of how the administrator enters the extension name (for example, .exe, EXE, exe, eXe, or another similar format), Fluid Topics recognizes that it must block files with this extension.
  • The name of the extension as entered in the Forbidden attachment file extensions section of the Feedback administration interface and the name of the extension as it exists in reality do not need to be an exact match. If the administrator enters the name as eXe and the name of the file is myfile.exe, Fluid Topics prevents the file from being attached.
