A single-server installation consists in installing Fluid Topics on a single server.

It is recommended to run indexing when traffic is low in single-server mode, or performance could be affected.

The following list shows all components that can be installed on a single server:

  • Web Server (Fluid Topics Server, PDF Server).
  • AFS Reply Environment (Query Manager, ACP, Spellcheck, Content Repository, Click).
  • AIF Data-Processing & Indexing Environment.
  • Back Office (Back Office Server, Administration Center, Update Manager).
  • Storage database for user-related content (MongoDB).

The following picture shows a schematic example of a single-server Fluid Topics installation:

Single Server architecture

Fluid Topics requires at least MongoDB server version 4.2.

Example

All along this documentation, we will take the following example.

The OleanDor company's customers and coworkers often complain about their documentation:

"We can't find what we're looking for!"
"It is not pleasant to read. We have to switch pages all the time and pages take so much time to load..."

To solve these issues, the OleanDor company just signed with Antidot to install a Fluid Topics portal for their documentation.

Before officially switching to Fluid Topics solution, they want to install a portal in beta version to run some tests.

Here is the technical information they gathered in anticipation of the installation:
