Selecting the New source button in the Manage sources administration interface displays a window where ADMIN and KHUB_ADMIN users can configure the following information for a source:

  • ID: the source's unique identifier. This information is used to specifically identify a source, regardless of its name or category. This field is mandatory. Once set, it cannot be modified.
  • Name: the name of the source. This field is mandatory. Once set, it cannot be modified.
  • Type: select a source type that matches the content that will be uploaded through this source (e.g., select the Dita source type for DITA content, the Ftml source type for FTML content, etc.). This field is mandatory. Once set, it cannot be modified.
  • Category: the category of the source. This field is optional. Defining a category generates the ft:sourceCategory metadata key.
  • Description: a description of the source. This field is optional.

It is also possible to create a source using the dedicated web service.

Each source ID and source name must be unique. It is not possible to reuse a source ID and/or source name that is already in use for another source.
